Bordeaux’s Margaux region produces some of the most desired wines in the world.
UPDATE: We are starting to release our allocations of 2019 Bordeaux, and, as expected, it’s a fantastic vintage. Better yet, these wines are being offered at great values for the collector! The 2019 vintage of Château Palmer, for example, was released at a price 33 percent lower than the just-as-impressive 2018 vintage.
Additionally, critics such as James Suckling and Jane Anson have now had the chance to taste some of these delicious examples of Bordeaux. “The sleek tannins and pure fruit character are what I expect in Bordeaux,” Suckling says. “It’s hard to say this was a cabernet sauvignon or merlot vintage or that it was better for the Right Bank or Left Bank. They are all just really good quality wines and some are fantastic. I only wish I could taste more of the truly great names.”

This time last year, we were releasing wines from one of the most exciting vintages from Bordeaux in recent years. (Over 70 of those “exceptional” wines, as James Suckling calls them, from the 2018 Bordeaux vintage are still available on our site today, by the way!)
This year, however, looks a bit different. With the COVID-19 pandemic at hand, the releases of 2019 Bordeaux futures have been pushed back. In fact, these wines have yet to be even tasted by critics and merchants. Tasting week was supposed to take place between March 30 and April 2, but, of course, like most everything else, it was suspended to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
The good news is that we have time. These wines are two years from being bottled and many years from drinking bliss. Additionally, experts predict that the 2019 wines will be well worth the wait as the season ended with promising concentrated, balanced, and strongly aromatic fruit.
